Is a three car garage worth the extra cost? This is a great question! It is one we always ask ourself before we start a new build. If doing a poll, I’m sure most would vote to do a three car garage, but the number one thing holding people back would be the cost and the space.
Last Fall, I built a porch swing bed for my mother-in-law. I documented the process and posted the tutorial here on our blog.
We’ve heard from a lot of people who have used it to make their own swing, which is awesome! But we’ve also been asked if we had plans for our original swing which was a different design, and was actually the one my mother-in-law ended up with. I built it long before we started this blog, which means I didn’t document the process or take and pictures of being built.
If you look at my feed and home, you will find out very quickly, I am a lover of light neutral colors. Although this is true, I do find that there are places where darker colors are appropriate. For instance, I love a dark accent wall, darker painted interior doors, or even an entire office painted with a darker color.
Box beams are a good alternative to solid wood beams. Box beams are made of three individual pieces of wood that are nailed together to form what looks like a solid beam. It’s a much more economical option and it is something you can do yourself.
Spring is one of my favorite seasons. Hearing the birds sing and seeing the trees and flowers bloom is so refreshing. Here in Tennessee we often experience long winters, and I am always thankful when this time of year rolls around. It gets me excited about adding some color and fresh touches around the house.
