I can’t believe Autumn is already approaching. The years seem to fly by and the seasons don’t seem to be long enough. I have to say though, I’m so ready for Fall! It’s beyond my favorite season. I love everything about fall: the cooler weather, sweaters, and pumpkin spice lattes. To me, fall just screams cozy!
We’ve been taking one room at a time in the new house and choosing all of the finishes such as lighting, flooring, and wall and ceiling accents. We recently tackled the dining room.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “you only get one chance to make a good first impression”. Your front porch is where your home makes its first impression. This is why it’s so important to create an inviting space outside your front door that makes your guests feel welcome.
Last year we decided to build a fire pit behind the house. We had originally planned on building a simple stone fire pit. After some discussion, we decided to build a modern one made of concrete. We thought it would be a nice contrast with the brick retaining wall along with the other elements we would add around the fire pit.
I don’t know about you all, but we spend so much time in our kitchen. From cooking, eating, to socializing, the kitchen seems to be the gathering place at our house. This could be because we have such a love for food. Actually some of our greatest memories have taken place in our kitchen.
