    Vaulted Ceilings in the Kitchen: Pros and Cons

    Vaulted ceilings in a kitchen can make a huge statement when it comes to the interior design of a home. This is why we’re thinking very hard about including this feature in our new house. I would like the vaulted ceiling to run all the way through from the great room into the kitchen. Henry is on board for it in the great room, but not not so much in the kitchen. To help us come to a decision, we thought it would be a good idea to lay out some pros and cons.

    As you know, keeping things simple is my style. Christmas decorations do not have to be over the top. In fact, you can give holiday cheer with just a few simple touches. In our current house, one is putting a regular door going into our toilet room in the master bath. It was always in the way when open. The solution: take it down, and replace it with a sliding barn door. Not only did it solve the problem, but it added another element of visual interest to the room.

    In another article, I shared some tips on taking better interior photos. One of them was to use a DSLR camera instead of an iPhone, because it gives you the ability to adjust shutter speed and allow more exposure for your shots. However, increasing exposure can cause a problem if there are windows in your shot. Since the window is where all of the light is coming from, they end up being overexposed.
