All-in-One Ventless Washer Dryer Combo: Our Review

When we moved into our new home a few weeks ago, we decided to invest in a GE Profile all-in-one washer-dryer ventless combo. The previous owners had a stacked washer and dryer combo which made things a little different in the laundry room with the vent situation. It was installed in a location that was going to be a problem. We figured this was a great time to switch over to ventless and do away with one machine. The GE Profile unit promised a seamless laundry experience with it’s mostly great reviews. Now, with a few weeks of usage under our belts, we’re ready to share our honest review of our all-in-one ventless washer-dryer combo.

Why We Chose the GE Profile All-in-One Washer Dryer

Moving to a new home often means rethinking appliances, and for us, space and convenience were top priorities. The GE Profile all-in-one unit caught our eye because of its ventless drying system and sleek, compact design. We loved the idea of loading laundry, setting a cycle, and coming back to clothes that are washed and dried without transferring between machines. This also prevented us from having to worry about moving the dryer vent as well as gave us some extra storage space. Not that this was a huge deal, but one less thing to do during our laundry remodel.

What We Love

  1. Space-Saving Design
This all-in-one combo is a game-changer for anyone with limited laundry room space. It combines the functions of a washer and dryer in one sleek machine, which was a lifesaver in our new space.
  2. Ease of Use
The intuitive controls and multiple cycle options make doing laundry effortless. We’ve especially appreciated the ability to set it and forget it—no more running back to swap loads from washer to dryer.
  3. Energy Efficiency
The ventless drying system is not only practical but also eco-friendly. It uses condensation to dry clothes, which eliminates the need for external vents and reduces energy consumption.
  4. Quiet Operation
Unlike some of the traditional appliances we’ve used in the past, this unit runs quietly. It’s great for open-concept spaces or homes where the laundry area is near living spaces.

The Drawbacks

While we’re overall thrilled with our GE Profile all-in-one washer-dryer combo, no product is perfect. Here are a couple of downsides we’ve noticed:

  1. Damp Clothes with Larger Loads
One of the biggest cons is that larger loads don’t always dry completely. The machine seems to struggle with moisture when the drum is too full, leaving clothes slightly damp. It’s an easy fix. Just split up larger loads or run an extra drying cycle, but it’s something to keep in mind.
  2. Cycle Time
Because this machine washes and dries in one go, cycles can take a while. A full wash-and-dry cycle can run two hours, but there are quick wash settings.

Tips for Getting the Best Results

  • Don’t Overload It: Stick to medium-sized loads for the best drying performance.
  • Use the Right Settings: Familiarize yourself with the different cycles to match the load type (e.g., delicates, heavy-duty).
  • Plan Ahead: Since cycles can take longer, schedule laundry time accordingly.

Our Final Verdict

The GE Profile all-in-one washer-dryer ventless combo has been a fantastic addition to our home. It’s perfect for anyone looking to save space and simplify their laundry routine. While it’s not without its quirks, like damp clothes with oversized loads, it’s a small price to pay for the convenience and efficiency this machine offers.

Would we buy it again? Absolutely. It’s transformed how we handle laundry and fits seamlessly into our new home. If you’re considering one for your space, we’d say go for it. You’ll likely love it as much as we do.
