The Best Light Gray Paint Colors

We have been on the search for the best light gray paint color for the shutters on the house we are renovating. We love the look of light gray against white painted brick and siding. There’s just something about the subtle contrast that looks so clean and crisp. We ended up choosing Farrow and Ball Cornforth White, but I have to say it was a hard choice. Pros and Cons of Sod vs Seed

Which is the better choice when planting a new lawn – sod or seed? It can be a tough decision for some and a more obvious one for others. We’ve done both recently. We laid sod around our pool area because we wanted that space to be finished so we could enjoy it this summer. And we sewed grass seed on our side yard where we had to build up our yard to bring the pool in. Since this part of the yard was far from the pool, we were willing to wait for the grass to come up. Our Backyard Pool Area Reveal

We’ve finally completed our backyard pool area! Well, almost. We’re still waiting for the automatic cover to be installed, but that hasn’t stopped us from already enjoying our pool during these hot summer days.

Going into this project, we knew that it was going to be a big undertaking. We didn’t have much of a backyard, and what little bit we had was on a pretty steep slope. So we had to bring in a lot of shale to build it up and level it out. Even though it took a lot to get here, we are so happy with the way it turned out. And we think that creating this usable space has added value to our home.

How to Grow and Care for Schip Laurel Shrubs

We recently planted schip laurels around our pool area to create a hedge. The schip laurel is low-maintenance and it grows under a variety of different conditions. It’s a beautiful shrub and it was a breeze to plant once we decided where we wanted it to go. We are really loving the look and feel like they’ve made a great addition to our landscaping. Schip laurels are also known as skip laurels or schipka laurels.
